@erwn I still don’t get the math behind most of the thing I do.
some books helped me understand the maths behind some tricks and effects but that’s about it. most of them are not written for flash, I’ll send you a couple of refernces by mail.

there are people around that are very skilled at explaining maths, follow their blog, they give clues, examples and explanations.

If you did fine arts and don’t have that much mathematics background, maybe you learned by yourself

If it’s right, do you have maths books recommendation (in english or french)

HI,
your question is a bit abstract to me…
in my Carving.as version you can set both the target width and height.
if you don’t change one of them , then it will only process vertically or horizontally.

ive got one question concerning seam carving: if Ive got the energy method given by M(x; y) = e(x; y) + min(M(x – 1; y – 1);M(x; y – 1);M(x + 1; y – 1), where M is the table/array, and I want to seam carve ONLY VERTICALY, how does the implementation of the method for calculating the arry looks like? cheers, a*
